On 26 May 1985 an explosion occurred while the Panamanian oil tanker Petragen One was unloading its cargo of fuel oil in the port of Algeciras (Spain). 99 tonnes of fuel oil were spilt.
Response at sea involved the use of dispersants by Spain and Gibraltar. Manual clean-up operations were also conducted on the shoreline.
