Faculty of Science, University of Western Brittany, 13-16 October 2011
This year, Cedre was offered the opportunity to present its activities at the Science Festival which took place from 13 to 16 October. The Science Village, hosted by the University of Western Brittany in Brest, attracted over 3,500 visitors over 4 consecutive days. The Thursday and Friday were intended mainly for schools, ranging from nursery age to post-secondary, from all over Finistère. The weekend was the chance for many local families to discover the world of science and its different applications.
Through a number of simple demonstrations, Cedre's employees presented our dependence on petrochemical products in our daily lives, the resulting transport needs between production and consumption areas, and the spills that can be caused… Several types of potential pollutants as well as response equipment and products were exhibited in a hands-on display, to give visitors some insight into this issue.
