PublicationsChemical response guides

A series of guides providing rapid access to essential information needed urgently in the event of a chemical spill.

This series of guides is designed to allow rapid access to the necessary initial information, in addition to providing relevant bibliographical sources to obtain further information. They also contain the results of scenarios relating to accidents in the Channel, the Mediterranean and in rivers. They can be used to assist in an emergency response to an incident involving a vessel carrying hazardous substances liable to pollute the water and the water column.

These guides are intended primarily for specialists who know about the techniques to use in the event of an emergency in addition to the relevant operational response measures. The main concern is to mitigate the consequences of an oil spill, however we cannot afford to overlook responder safety and human toxicology.
